30A - Bay guide for Redfish

Looking at getting a guide for my son and I either mid-October during Fall Break or over Thanksgiving week.
Is one month better than the other as far as getting on some Reds?
Any recommendations on a good bay guide in the Santa Rosa beach area?

I’d call “Bay Baits”. They can give you seasonal info and connect you with a charter

Captain Royce Dahnke with Cast and Blast Charters
850-687-6060
He lives in Destin, has an East Cape Caimen and fishes West Bay quite a bit. Great fisherman, guide, and dude. Kid friendly and extremely patient. Give him a call.

For inshore fishing you’re probably looking at Destin or Panama City. There’s no harbor between those places. Should be good inshore fishing and plenty of guides in PC. Not sure about Destin, but probably the same.

shite just stop at Dixie Bar off Gulf Shores on the way with any guide and arrive with a box of them.
Water is almost too nice for redfish off 30A. Catch pompanos or something instead man.

Are you hell bent on bay fishing? I’m local. For the price of what bay guides are charging I’d consider just going on an offshore trip. Can probably wait until last minute when you can get an accurate seas report and book something 2-3 days prior. A lot of boats will take 1-3 people to fill up.
For inshore, Blake with Last Cast competes in a lot of the Redfish Series and does very well. He has multiple guides that fish with him though and I don’t know those guides, but they’ll all be fishing the same spots with same tactics.

If you going to be in the PCB area fish the jetties on any tide movement, falling or rising as long as it is really moving and not just moving like it is always moving. Site fish wave riding bulls with a 20 pound class spinning rod and a super spook in golden shiner. You will be worn out.
