I do think they need to do something to get some crowds back.

I think they need to get more marine biologists down there.

If someone was smart and wanted to really make a big event they would have a huge cash prize rodeo in Lake Pontchartrain/Borgne for Tarpon.

Offer $25k for the largest tarpon and people will come out the woodwork.

Trashy strippers and hookers aren't a draw anymore

This is my point. I’m not judging anyone who participates. Hell, I’d accept an invite .

But that shite isn’t acceptable anymore. Social media spreads all that stuff around without context and people start clutching their pearls. It’s not the same world it was in the good old days.

I definitely clutched my pearls when I saw a guy eat the arse of one of those strippers in front of a large group of people. I bet he regretted that

Hasn’t been the same since they made a push to make it more family oriented. Only reason most people went was for the trashy stuff. Half of them never even saw the weigh in. Not hating. That was the only reason I went. The good times are over for good.

Completely agree, I just wish they would change the structure a bit. Offer cash for prizes, have a band at the tent every night, continue the event schedule as they did in the past, etc. It's just sad to see the decline in such a formerly popular event.
