It’s not hard. Start researching now for next year. You will need an onx subscription. 29$ for each state. You don’t need a handheld. You can use your phone and download the maps ahead of time. I just downloaded 3 overlapping maps of our area. Took about 10 mins total. Now I can use them in the onx app without service. I also have a handheld with a Colorado onx chip.

I have used OnX app the last two years for Wyoming antelope hunt and it is perfect for hunting public land. Can download maps for when no cell service. I have been told gamewardens will use it as proof you didn’t trespass.
