another question for all ford truck owners. i've been reading a lot about eco-boost MPG problems. any comments on that topic?
anyone with the 5.0 have some MPG stats?

I've had both 5.0 and ecoboost. Both get about the same mpg. The ecoboost pulls way better. With that said I avg about 17 to 18 depending on how I drive with the 3.5 ecoboost. Pulling my bay boat I get 12 to 13. People really need to quit buying trucks for fuel economy...the ecoboost is designed to pull and that it does. The 5.0 Does Too But Not As Well As The eco. That's my 2cents from someone who has owned both. Would buy ecoboost again for sure.

The ecoboost will get slightly better mileage, heavily dependent on how it is driven though. It's more of an eco or boost scenario because you can't have both. If you keep your foot off of the gas pedal and stay out of the high boost range it does really well, but it's so fun. That said, I'm still breaking mine in and get a little over 19mpg here in Houston.

Agreed. If gas mileage is your real concern, flip a coin because they're both dependent on how you drive. I love the power of my Ecoboost and love the sound of the turbos, thus I often haul arse which kills my MPG. I love the sound of the V8, but I love the torque and sound of twin turbos. Will continue to own Ecoboost Fords

Agreed, love the sound. I'm in a 2013 Taurus sho, have been for 2.5 years. But looking at the F-150 now. I get great gas despite how much fun it is to run it.
was just concerned due to a lot of what I read.
Actually settled on one today that Robinson had. Told the guy to start working numbers and we can get it done today or this weekend, this was around 2 pm. Calls me at 3 to say that the truck I wanted sold 3 hours before -_-
Gonna look again tomorrow.

What trim are you looking into?

I liked Plat. Wife preferred KR. Decided on a KR.
My beef with the KR is the grill on the front. Not a fan.
Options back on the table with the one we picked getting purchased though.

They're pretty similar as far as options go, just differences in the details. I liked the platinum more due to the grill and interior. I'm not a fan of the large tailgate chrome piece on either.
Check these out to get an idea of lowest advertised prices. They basically sell at invoice minus some holdback. They'll give you a price floor to shoot for if you're inclined to haggle where ever you choose to go.

You know about trading and buying out of state?

I'm familiar with them... Looks like they are as competitive as anyone... Now, I wonder if the Nola dealers will match?

It should be a straight forward process on the buying part. They'll just look at their tax book for whatever parish you're in and you'll pay that. I can't see any problem with the trade either. Call one of them if you think it might be worth looking into.
