I got the Rough Country 2" level on my GMC and love how it sits now. It honestly wasn't that hard to put on either if you have a good jack, a friend, and a few beers can be put on in no time. Make sure to get an alignment after also!

I put one on my 216 Ram 1500. Blew 2 shocks within a few months. Took it off and put the Bilstein 5100s on. Well worth the extra money. Rides a lot better than stock shocks.

If you do this you'll be very happy when you change your oil. Changed mine this weekend (2015 Sierra) & I could barely get under the low hanging running boards.

Found your problem
I drove a Chevy for 7 years before buying my '15 Ram that flooded. Bought another one but 4x4. That Chevy had absolutely nothing on the Ram, not even gas mileage. I've pulled a 45 hp tractor behind both and it's a night and day difference with the Ram. No problems pulling it. The Chevy almost couldn't handle it. I grew up a Chevy guy with my dad owning a few but we both drive Rams now.
But yes, according to the guy at 4 wheel parts, type of suspension on the Ram is why the leveling kit didn't work out. Not sure how it would work on a Chevy/GMC.

Had one installed on my old Tundra years ago at CSC customs. They put the front kit on and let me look, but it looked borderline too high in the front, so they put the back kit on too and then it was perfect. The front should be very slightly lower than the back. It's a good look; I've seen no adverse effects in the 6+ years I've had mine and allows more tire clearance, should you decide to get taller tires; amazing difference on the look of the truck, you won't be sorry.

My rack and pinion was just replaced under warranty also. It made a clicking noise when I would turn. I have a 2" level kit and have on all of my trucks and have never had a problem. Maybe GM has a defect, don't think rack and pinion should be going out. Mine had just under 36,000 miles

I was told when I bought my truck a few months ago that if you have a leveling kit installed, GM would no longer cover any of the front end suspension under warranty. Said they were having problems with the steering boxes on the newer trucks due to leveling kits.

That's what I've been told by GM Service Managers.

But also OEMs in general say if you modify or abuse any part of the vehicle that part is not covered under warranty. No the whole vehicle but the failed part that was modified or effected.

Wonder how they are handling all the new leveled and lifted trucks that are altered before the sale...

Be wary w/ leveling kits if you plan on having a truck for a good while.
I had one on my previous two truck's and know multiple others who have found ourselves replacing the ball joints multiple times because of the front end geometry. I drove both vehicles over 150k miles and it was a pain in the arse having to replace them.
I will admit it looks miles better w/ a level, but I'll never do it again after seeing how much they ran through front end equipment on previous vehicles.

You better make sure that leveling kit doesn't negate your warranty. I'd check it out first bro before I do anything.

Level kit does not affect your warranty - I would put Bilateins in the front. I have a 14 Ram that now has a 4" lift and I have Bilateins all the way around they ride much better than factory shocks.

Whatever you do just please adjust your headlights down.

of my front shocks started making noise and the dealership replaced it under warranty. That was with a leveling kit.
The service manager said he sees that a lot, that the factory shocks don't do well with the front lifted.

I had a 2.5 on my sierra 1500 and a 2.5 on my f150 now. Ride is a litter rougher but it is a truck and I have E load tires. If i had more money when leveling it I would have gone with cognito A-arms to keep factory ride and not bind up ball joints.
