sed to hunt and run my boat through that area prior to the diversion. My uncle was involved in the diversion and they found they had to slow the current down with some small berms to help with land building.

Yeah I used to hunt all over riverside with your cousins. Pretty sure based on your username I sold shrimp and fish to your dad and brother.

But agreed, diversions take an extremely long time to build land and it’s not going to be overwhelming like it happened in the past.
and sedimentary deltas are never built fast. Take areas like bay denise there is literally land you can walk on that was open water 8-15 years ago. you need to go to the OT and check out perez stolen land thread bro.

I forget the name but Texas did a project IIRC regarding the intercostal and it has helped rebuild a lot of sediment and land back on that end, granted that is a different beast being so far from the Miss.

I am no civil engineer or water expert so I will be optimistic about this, now if they can figure out a way to get the giant salvinia out of alot of these historically good duck areas in LA I would think the numbers across the state including the coast should increase.

Did the Davis Pond diversion not work?

The Davis Diversion is a fresh water diversion built to maintain the encroaching saltwater line. It wasn't a sediment diversion. It has put a ton of nutrients in the northern part of the lake it goes into.
