No but now that you mention it I think I snuck one of my two 10mms from my dad's toolbox.

I heard for years from my brothers and friends about losing 10mm sockets. When I really started getting into collecting tools I noticed it’s actually a thing. I don’t get it but I’ve lost 5-6 of them over the years and I still have every single one of all other sizes.

Bought three of the four sets the Gonzales store had, took 10 minutes to find them. They were on an aisle endcap not on the socket aisle.

yeah I don't get it. I feel left out of the internet meme craze of losing 10mm. When I was 14 I saved up a couple hundred bucks and had my dad take me to Sears to buy the biggest kit I could afford. Came with 3 different 10mm sockets and they are all still there. Same goes for other sets I've bought since then. Won't say I don't ever lose tools, just my 10mm seem to hang around pretty well.

Couldn’t just said you don’t use your socket set much

In a somewhat related incident, I can't seem to find my impact driver. Last time I remember using it, I was trying to swap out a lawnmower blade about a month ago. Couldn't get the old bolt to budge with my extended socket handle, and couldn't get it to move with the impact either. I was all hot and sweaty and just decided to mow one more time with the old blade before I spread some new grass seed. Started looking for it this weekend for a project and it must have grown legs and walked away to wherever the 10mm sockets are living in the garage. Had to use the drill instead, which was fine, but now I'm wondering where it is.

"Boy...put my tools back where they came from or they will get lost!".

I heard it about a hundred times and had to tell it to my own son about a hundred more.

The cycle of tool life.
