Scouting today in N Mizzou. Saw a nice 130” 9 this morning off the road. Slaughter starts tomorrow. Good luck boys!

It was a pretty morning but I was disappointed with my previous pole saw work. Got off stand at 9:30 and cut down what felt like 100 saplings. Should be 10 times better.

Daughter arrowed a 10 pt this morning. Unfortunately, no recovery. She saw the arrow sticking out when he took off. Never found arrow, blood or deer. Called in dogs, still nothing. I'm upset for her. I missed a doe too. Tough morning.

Got a doe this morning.
27 yard neck shot.
Did some chainsaw work opening up the canopy for a duck hole at lunch.
Now trying to get a buck this afternoon while enjoying a cold beverage.
Great start to hunting season.
Rapides parish.

Hope y’all recover it. Can be a rough experience,
My wife shot a doe in September but didn’t recover it and she doesn’t want to get back in the woods with a bow.
