Last hunt of the year for me
Slow season but still ok overall.
One doe early up here along with a couple pigs. The big bucks eluded me and I was a deer observer for much of the season.

I did manage to get a nice 210 pound 8 point down in St. Landry Parish for my biggest Louisiana buck. My new hunting buddy was born in August and I can't wait to get him outdoors with me in a few years.

Bliss Creek. Redwood MS. Cypress Brake. Three mallards and two gadwall down by 7:30. Haven't seen too many ducks, but it's starting to pick up. Sunlight on the decoys now.

8:30 and 4 mallards and 6 gadwall

9:00 and 7 mallards and 6 gadwall now

Can't offer much other than sitting a the base of a tree. Just getting things the way we want them. Still good deer movement, and almost no hogs so I'm in luck.

Box stand looking down a road

Had to pick the stand where the deer will likely be further away. This cough I have is giving me fits.

Did TexasTiger wise up and head home? Don't see a post from him this morning.

Probably won't get in the woods until this weekend for Primitive, but the weather really needs to change. I've about given up on this season.

Good luck OB and be safe today.

Will be pushed for time. Headed to a friend's place for lunch and to do some survey work. Then a short afternoon hunt.

Anybody know the Facebook page for deer tracking dogs? Hit a nice buck last night, followed blood for a while then lost it. About to head back to look but not very confident in picking up the trail

Good luck everyone!!

I didn't see anything legal to shoot, but I did see a lot of different birds, a fox, some coons, and a bobcat that was too far off to get a shot on at dusk. Love being out in the woods even if I don't have anything to shoot at.
