The American pole vaulter, Sam Kendricks, is from Oxford, MS.

I’ve never thought of Mississippi and Louisiana as places that produce world class pole vaulters.

Acting like this is some traitorous act is rich when literally everyone on this board would do the same thing for the financial gain alone.

Man I don't know. Think quite a few would choose USA no matter what.

No chance, the money and popularity discrepancies would be too great for a board that is all about status.

By and large, you know how superficial this board is. It's admirable that you like to believe in that type of patriotism, but I just don't see it.

Frankly, I'm ok with it, same way I'm ok with Zach Lee leaving LSU at the 11th hour to sign with the Dodgers, it's a smart business decision.

I have two American parents, so my perspective is different from someone like Mondo. I don’t have a mother from Sweden. A mother that competed for Sweden in international competitions as a youth before moving to America to attend LSU.

I have two American parents and they would call me an idiot if I gave up millions of dollars just to wear a shirt that said USA on it.

Keep in mind, Mondo didn't renounce is American citizenship.

They literally have a monument in, I think, Stockholm that moves everytime he sets a WR. He has surpassed Zlatan as the country's most famous athlete.

Because people are acting like he abandoned America.

It's really not as deep as people are making it out to be.

According to whom? I call bullshite on that big time. I'm not trying to diminish Mondo but he's not as famous as Zlatan. Man give me a break with that.

But no one is saying he denounced his citizenship. I really don't understand the point you were trying to make there.
