I think they would move the date up before they cancelled it.

Nothing has been said. I doubt they move the date up, maybe back but I doubt that too. I will be down there either way.

With a vast amount of oil suspended in the water column and the sea floor because of dispersants, we are in it for the long haul.

With confirmed tar balls from the oil spill on Grand Isle beaches as of this morning. Hard to see them hosting a rodeo.

On CNN

LINK

Meanwhile, the Coast Guard said Sunday that tar balls, pieces of emulsified oil, have now washed up on shore at Grand Isle, Louisiana.

Lots of questions. Another is what the Feds will do about the Red Snapper season. The previous dates were going to screw the GITR by closing immediately prior to the rodeo, will be interesting to see what they do about our inability to fully fish the beginning of the season. If past history holds, they will just give our quota to Florida and Texas.

It will be interesting with all the rodeos coming up in June. Several are being held at Sand Dollar marina.

Currently, Army National Guard has setup camp at Sand Dollar and you cant even access the parking lot.

But now with the first sign of tar balls showing up on the beach of Grand Isle who knows.

This really sucks. I have reservations that I made the last day of last year's rodeo and I think they may have me tied to these. I should go anyway, but where will the action be??

Because of the oil spill I dont think rental places can hold you to an agreement. With cancellations of rodeos, BP will be required to foot the bill because of lost tourism.
