I'll have to look harder today. We didn't see any clean up crews on our beach. The surf was big. I didn't notice the problems you mentioned Pineville.

We just got back from a long weekend at Destin West which is actually Ft Walton. Waves were huge, water was beautiful. My wife did get a little brown, tar ball stuck to her and it was a bitch to get off. Outside of that...it was perfect.

I'll be heading that way early Thursday morning; we are staying at the Emarld Grande towers in Destin Harbor by AJ's and McGuire's.

How is the crowd? Are people starting to show up? I'm more worried about the place being a ghost town then I am about actually getting in the water.

Crowd is ok, not overcrowded but not too sparse. Condo parking lot isn't full.

But, I can't compare it to anything since we're usually in a beach house in Gulf Shores. First time I've been at Destin in years.

BTW - Jake Delhomme and his family are in our complex. Recognized and talked to him at the pool yesterday.

Silver Tower.

Life guards keeping people out of the Gulf right now because of the strong tides. Red Flag, overcast, rainy day at the beach.

Beach is empty today because of the weather.

there were a lot of people last weekend. Harbor docks packed every night. Baytown had a ton of people walking around. The concert at the boardwalk had traffic all the way into Destin... it will be packed this weekend.
