So if Chu is in charge is it BP's plan or is Chu's?
Big difference. The feds are pulling the strings and BP is the puppet. When something goes wrong BP's nose grows. When something goes right it was all Obama.
Find out why and who stopped the process now? If Chu is in charge why can't he explain why the process was stopped and what they are waiting on to go forward.
I already know the reason and no I don't care to share why. I said it before and I'll say it again. The administration is part of the problem and not part of the solution.
You are so excited for the government to take over. Well according to what Obama said they don't need to take over they are already in charge. So if they are in charge why hasn't it been stopped? Why won't Chu tell us what is going on?

I know you can't share it, but can you say whether it is reason for optimism or pessimism?

From Wikipedia:
Steven Chu (born February 28, 1948)[3] is an American physicist and currently the 12th United States Secretary of Energy. Working at Bell Labs and Stanford University, Chu is known for his research in cooling and trapping of atoms with laser light, which won him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1997.[3] At the time of his appointment as Energy Secretary, he was a professor of physics and molecular and cellular biology at the University of California, Berkeley and the director of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where his research was concerned primarily with the study of biological systems at the single molecule level.[1] He is a vocal advocate for more research into alternative energy and nuclear power, arguing that a shift away from fossil fuels is essential to combating Climate Change.[4][5][6] For example, he has conceived of a global "glucose economy", a form of a low-carbon economy, in which glucose from tropical plants is shipped around like oil is today.[7]
Maybe, he knows how to trap oil with lasers.

What would you have them do differently?

The Govt. is in Charge now in so far as BP cannot do shite without govt. approval.
The Problem is that it is becoming more and more apparent that this thing may not be shut in untill the relief wells are drilled, and that is not the governments fault. As that realization dwns on more people, the pressure will become more intense. As the presur emounts, people and politicians alike with run for cover or deflect blame.
Fred, it isn't the government stopping the top kill from working, it is what it is.
I thought Obama's speach was just right. No blame game, no hysteria. Comittment to the cause. He did not say anything about a Govt. take-over, despite the misinterpretation by NWT and CNN. Obama bashing, Bush bashing, BP bashing and general government bashing is just typical ranter behavior. Please stop.

Reagan said the words you DO NOT EVER want to hear are " I'm from the federal Government and I'm here to help" , how true are those words now.

Everyone needs to watch Kent Well's ppt explaining the entire operation that is ongoing at the leak site. The media thus far has not done a very good job reporting on this, but this ppt does.

Really?
Everyone is pissed because BP didn't say that the Top Kill was stopped for 16 hours. Why didn't the government tell us? They are in charge.
Find out how long it took to get the permit issued for the Top Kill to start the first time. Then the second time. Find out why the Top kill was stopped this time.
Get back to me when you have those answers.
I won't say that the Top Kill will work, but it certainly has a better chance of success if bureaucracy wasn't holding up progress.
