tgr, where did you earn your degree in Oceanography, Environmental Engineering, Marine Biology, etc.?

The undersea ecosystem is going to be poisoned for years, yet everyone should just calm down b/c you feel the oil will be biodegraded. You are aware of the toxic dispursents they have been using and the fact that biodegradation is slowed severely under water?

Son, for a biased business owner you really come across as sharp as a marble.

...from TV of course. you caught me.

I am not invested in your game-playing enough to take the time to link you to the probabilities below the waters' sruface, more specifically past the continental shelf.

Burden of proof is on you. Want to calm everyone down hotshot, prove me wrong.

ETA: while darkening beaches would suck, I am not near as concerned about this as I am for the generations of fish stockpiles at risk. This is the dagger to commercial fisherman. The beaches will eventually be salvaged IF they are actually polluted to any signifcant extent (on this, I conceed, you may have a point).

key word

The thing is no one knows, so just relax and lets just see what happens

thats where you are wrong, you have to prove to me that the oil is killing us and is going to ruin our lives forever. As far as I;m concerned we are good to go, unless you can prove to me that everything we live for down here is gone forever.

I'll hang up and listen to your case.

Well shite this thread makes me feel a whole lot better about the situation. One question, do you work for BP. If not you should. Great job of convincing that everything will be OK.

...see, he doesn't even understand burden of proof. If you are trying to calm the nervous masses, you must substantiate your position. Simply saying it'll be ok, won't stop it from happening.

son, balls in your court not mine.....you started this.

IF you can present solid science that supports your foolishness, then the burden shifts to me.

go

Prove what? That there has been no significant damage to our coast or eco system. Yes, there is oil on the coast and in our waters, but does that mean the end of the world??

Prove to me that this the end of the world then I will change my mind. I have no reason to believe everything will not be okay unless you can prove to me otherwise.
