Wait, what? What does that mean? I was thinking the top kill was going to seal this bitch up and we could move on forever. Do you mean production from the relief well?
They are not going to just leave all that oil down there.

It makes for good bedside and dinner table talk.

My favorite joke is the Houma District is located on the corner of Cummings and Handcock rd.
Did you get a "BJ Thanks for the Memories" t-shirt?

I know an engineer in the lafayette office. His initials are JM.

No shite. But I was confirming that he was talking about the relief well and not some sort of method of re-working the one they're dealing with right now.
He said that his company is now pumping the mud, then setting the cement, then in charge of production. Just making sure that I was clear.
Thanks Kracka.

I spoke with a petro engineer who is a freind of my uncle a week and a half ago and he said they could have done this a month ago, but chose not to.
Another friend of a friend of a friend who may have once seen a drilling rig and thinks . . . .
Come on. They have spent at least a billion so far. They will spend much more in the future. Do you really think they are stupid?
The reservoir is still there, even if you seal up this wellbore. It is obviously very permeable, so where you are on structure ain't as important.
Man, I don't know you, and I am sure you believed what you were told. But it is this kind of reckless talk that is going to kill us. Let's all remember these conversations when we are paying $30 a gallon for gas and using Chinese currency to pay for it. Rant ends.

This whole event has really opened my eyes to how clueless our society is. I hear over and over really stupid stuff at work, on the radio, facebook, via email, etc. All it takes is a little bit of reading from a factual source and you can find the answers to alot of things and educate yourself just a little bit.
I know everyone I work with went to college, but they still spread this stupid rumor stuff around all day long like a bunch of 5th graders. They sure know about what happened on Lost last night though.

Doesn't ring a bell, but there are a few new engineers in training here I don't know yet.

Dude, this is just human nature. Everyone who does that just wants to spread rumors to seem important and in the know, so they will have talking points with people who might be fooled into thinking they know what they are talking about.

the next trick will be getting cement spotted in there.
Are you and others you work with optimistic that this will work?

maybe he's one of those frac engineers. I am looking at my extention list and there is no JM's on it. So it might be one of them.
