What is the size scale of these tubes and other stuff we are looking at?
Everything was bought at Home Depot to save money. They were having a close out sale.

So, if we don't see stuff spewing out of the various pipes and hoses other than the oil coming out of the riser, then we can assume all is well, correct?
Does BP know what stage the mud is in based on sensors placed on the apparatus they rigged up? Do they monitor pressure and flow and what not this way? Will they be able to monitor the progress of the mud once it enters the BOP stack and then into the well, or just calculate based on how much mud has flowed past their sensors on the top kill device?

it's a delicate mathematical equation that calculates how many strokes/min it takes to get the mud at x depth.

Forgive me if this has been covered...Watching the progres on live stream. Can anyone give an indication of the size of the apparatus being used and what exactly it is? Thanks.

You also need to factor in the density of the fluid being pumped, the size of the pipe, and the depth.

That's what she said

I'm too old also but I think in that context it might be That's What She Said.
If not, we can make it that.

that's what i meant when i said "delicate". guess i should have said complicated.

see, kids. math will come in handy one day in a big way.

yep, when 1+1=3 you know you have a problem.

in case anyone is wondering, you are looking at the lmrp (upper section of the bop). right in front of you is the annular.

This is like watching a monkey tryng to "F" a greased football. Yet I'm soothed by the fact that I dont see an oil leak from this contraption.
