Most of that went over my head. Interesting how they think there is another bigger leak some six miles away. Hope they are wrong.

Can you at least give a recap of the interview?

ETA: Forget it. I watched 3 minutes and had enough.

These two guys are idiots. WOW energy! He is making a lot of assumptions with no facts. Horrible piece of journalism to even put these two asses on TV.

I'm not oilfield. I would be guessing. If I thought my guesses would be productive to this board, I would offer.

I posted the interview in hopes of having professionals comment.

Do you actually think BP does not know where the well head is?

I edited my original post. Basically to give a quick analogy, think of the poster who said Trindon should be put at defensive end.

Understood.

Thank you for attempting to endure the verbal maelstrom for our collective benefit.

I think these two are absolute fricking lunatics.

I think that BP and the rest of the rational world know exactly where the well is. It is precisely where it was originally drilled. The BOP is still situated on top the well. Oil is leaking up through that well and the only true fix for this is well intervention work which is now being attempted or relief wells which are also being attempted.

I couldn't watch the whole thing. I suspect these two either 1) wanted 15 mins of fame or 2) think they can profit from this in some way.

the fat weird looking guy really isnt qualified to even be up there talking about well operations

basically he is a project manager. a electrical engineer with a business degree. his current company does waste heat recovery. not sure how he is all of a sudden qualified to be an expert on wellbore operations.

Sid and Fred:
Do yourselves a favor - make a big cocktail, chug it, make another and go to about the 8:00 minute mark. These two meatheads go full retard at that point.

1) They recommend the "bomb in casing" technique ("That's Red Adair used to do it")
2) Supertankers to "suck up" the oil. (Let's save that energy)
3) BP has got to find the "real" leak! (the actual wellhead)
4) The "real" leak is spewing 120,000 bpd.
5) The fat one says he rammed an ROV into a blownout well because "that was our only option"

These two assholes are why I use TD and The Daily Show as my news sources!

Edit:
Not so much a favor, but an illustration of man's stupidity.

The problem with shite like this is people like me and most of America, know nothing about drilling oil wells. So when we see something like this on TV,it makes you question what BP is doing.

But even w/o knowing anything about drilling, didn't these guys appear to be a little "off" to you? How could anyone think BP doesn't know where their own wellhead is? (Hint: it's the one with the 55' tall BOP of top of it)

Who, in their right mind, would try to stop a blowout by driving a multimillion dollar ROV into it? And THEN, laugh about it on national TV?

Those two looked like a bad SNL skit.
