yeah that is the answer, put the govt. in charge of all energy production in the US. Just one more layer of dependence on govt. for everyone to endure.

I predicted that after health care, energy would be the next thing Obama went after.

that's because you can flip a coin.

There's only immigration and energy left to deal with.

So the economy is right as rain, Otto? It'll bite him square in the arse if it isn't and he is perceived as "fiddling" with energy and immigration as the economy continues to burn.

It'll be too diluted to do much damage to the reefs in florida by then... even if it's flowing at 20,000 bbl/day for 3 months (pretty much worst case scenario). It won't all get picked up in the loop current, if it even makes it that far

good. thanks for the info.

Dilution is what I was implicitly referring to.

But hey, Otto is right and the spill will kill all life in the reefs because Otto can draw a line on the map....that is all the "logical reason" he needs. Considerations for the volume of water between the two points is moot.

Jesus H. Christ these libs that are ignorant about oil but are running around like they have a clue because they read a couple of articles online written by folks who in of themselves largely don't have a clue and are just repeating what others say are pissing me off.

Otto's probably running around saying we should have an acoustic shut off valve system on the BOPs.

so what exactly is the dilution ratio 11,000 barrels of oil to the amount of water? How much of the oil will settle to the bottom of the Gulf at the well site and along the way towards the tip of Florida ? Because you being so WISE know that oil forms tar balls in water and falls out of suspension.

we'll see. I was repeating what was reported on the weather channel. I doubt they made up the whole thing. someone told them that was the case. Maybe, maybe not.
We will see what happens really.
We are lucky this happened in the spring and not in the late summer, when a hurricane would move things along quickly.

I responded. stop ragging on me. its against the rules.

I know what sovereign means. its owned by the state.
there are several snotty retorts to my post about that in which I responded TO YOU previously, in which anti-govt posters pretend that we cant do the job if there are govt employees. I dont see such excellence on the parts of the corporatists, and I am SURE that we would make a huge profit from drilling our own oil. We dont need to do leases.
We can profit from the oil drilled offshore.

No, that is not what it means. It means that it is independent, as in, rules itself.
