I live in Gulf Shores so i am very interest in what's going on with this. All I have heard lately from the Mayor's and officials from all of the towns effected is that BP is doing very little.
Will not hire boats and crews that are sitting there waiting, only 600 workers on the beaches fron LA to Fl,the crews that are working only work 20 minutes every hour,no one on the beaches for miles, etc.
What the hell

all i can say is that if you love your beech, go and some clean up yourself, BP may repay/send workers or what ever but you dont wanna waste time IMO

The only thing I have seen from BP is they are hiring guys who belong in the hood (thus work signs planted in the ground in north baton rouge and in the gardere area).

They bus the guys to the beach, drop them off and all they do is stay underneath a tent and smoke all day and crack jokes.

Staying in the same hotel as these guys is eye opening. They are paid $10-$12/hr with little or no training.
BP simply doesnt care

They hire these people because they get tax credits for hiring someone who is unemployed or someone has been convicted of a felon

What a fricking joke. A perfect mix of corporate greed and welfare state giveaway recipients. Something for everyone!
