this kind of thing actually happens pretty frequently in nature...I don't like it, but if the cause is nothing that man had control over, then I don't have that big a problem with it....

I say the turtles were in a cult and the mother ship accidentally set the rig on fire as it came down to scoop up its sea turtle followers...all the pieces are finally starting to line up
