I see what he's trying to accomplish, I just wish he's visible weakness didn't represent the entire country.

Exactly. If he wants to take a firm stance on gun control, fine. Just do it like a fricking man and maybe he'd be taken more seriously instead of acting like an emotional 12yr old girl.

i'm in.

he goes first.

i want to see the secret service toss their guns in a trashcan and let the DC police take on protecting him.

yeah, pretty much this too. do you need the fake theatrics that everyone can see through to push your politics?

Or maybe go through the legislative process as opposed to trying to cast your beliefs on an entire nation.

Well, W had that one presser a few days after where he kind of had a moment but he quickly recovered and remained steadfast with his message.

This doesn't bother me as much as basically using the parents of an isolated school shooting unlike anything this country has ever seen. Newtown was horrible, but don't use the parents as a statement of gun control. Had that kid wanted to use his mom's gun, he would have found a way.

Exactly. Great leaders don't use tears to sway the public opinion one way or another. They use their voice, their message, and their overall leadership skills.

Obama represents weakness at this point, and I think it shows why the rest of the world has turned to others (Putin) over the last several years.

That would be nice. Let me rephrase...

He wants the wide majority of responsible gun owners to change their point of view and give up their protection so that criminals, police, and the ones protecting him are the only ones armed.

So the man showed some emotion, what's the big deal? Will his tears take away your guns?

Him crying makes him human. I see no problem with it.

This is a new low. At least Jimmy Carter didn't squirt a few on TV. A person in this position can't be seen doing this. Damn, you know Putin is about to piss all over himself laughing.

I am sure that he is crying for all of the black people who shoot other black people and not one single frick given about any other race shot by a gun.

Perhaps he is also crying for all of the deer shot by white people who hunt.

I have no problem about showing emotion. Things happen and men to cry. However, it is best done in private. When you're sitting in a position of leadership, you can't just be absorbed with yourself. The position you're sitting in is bigger than you, and the image needs to be protected - particularly if you want any chance in hell of being respected. This SOB was already a POS and he just jumped over the shark.
