Smoked hard for 30 yrs. Eight years quit..... It will come for me one day. Everytime I see a kid smoking I want to slap it outa his or her damn mouth!..... Wish somebody had done that for me!

Its all fun and games until you cant catch your breath.

Not a smoker (quit 2 years ago) but smoke away if that’s your thing.

I've been in bars.
I've been around people who smoke.
I've seen my mom die from emphysema.
SMOKING frickin' sucks. Until you see someone gasping for air, even someone who is on oxygen, you will never get it. Even vape people don't have a clue. Live forever people..... until you can't breathe.

Smokers stink and not all the smelly stuff or breath mints can cover it up. A smoker walks in you can smell them across a crowded room. The only person that can’t smell the stink is the smoker.

My dad quit because he had to, emphysema. Sitting in the doctors office as he was slowly dying of throat cancer, a smoker walked in. My old dad looked at me and asked if he always smelled like that. Told him yes. He died regretting that he smoked around his kids his entire life.

I detest cigarettes, cigars, pipes anything that burns and is inhaled. Never dated a smoker and don’t hang out with people who smoke. Really hate it.

I love smoked fish. If you are visiting the Great Lakes areas around Superior and the Northern parts of Huron and Michigan get some smoked whitefish, trout, or salmon.

quote:

But here's a distinction. Smoking cigars is not the same. Other than historic folks like King Edward, Sigmund Freud or Churchill, cigar smokers aren't chain-smoking cigars on a daily basis. They are generally reserved for social occasions-- after a nice dinner, outside at an event, in a cigar bar, yada yada. It's a totally different expectation.

Cigar smokers may not smoke as often, but they smoke longer. Overall they still have a higher incidence of lung cancer, not as high as cigarette smokers but significatly higher than a non-smoker. They also have a higer incidence of oral cancers, and esophageal cancer, the carcinigens in the cigar smoke are absorbed in the saliva which is swallowed.

My ex wife (no pics) smokes at least a pack a day. I say smoke up sooner she gets lung cancer the better!

If you smoke knowing that you risk lung cancer, then you be you. I just think you should pay more for health insurance than I do.

It dramatically increases your risk of going through a tortuous process of getting dead at a younger than expected age...cancer, etc.

It hurts those around you, increasing their risk too.

OK at one point, but that was in the early 70's, just the smell bothers me now.
Good luck to those of you that smoke, be cause of heath and also monetary reasons.
