Do they look at online degrees the same way they look at degrees recieved on campus? Seems to be a lot of them out there now. I used to think of them as scams, what is the concensus now?
They're fine if they're from a legit University. A lot of universities don't differentiate between in person or online degrees. But don't go to an online only University, like Phoenix or Devry. Those are a joke.
I've known people than have gotten Masters degree from prominent state universities that were 95%+ online classes.

I was in a Verizon store seem to get a phone fixed last week. A guy at the counter was telling his colleague that they are paying for him to get his MBA. Intrigued I asked where. It was some random name ai never heard of, but basically an online school that met in a strip mall building once a month.
Seems to me like a cheap form of compensation. Make me employee except less money in exchange for these so-called opportunities to better himself

Go take some tours of colleges of art, human sciences, education, mass comm, drama, interior design, social sciences, women & gender studies, etc.
Your view of four year degrees is a bit myopic.
Oh geez. I was obviously talking about someone with a respectable degree track. I would hire a dedicated ditch digger long before someone who has a degree like that. As far as some of those degrees go, having one of those also tells me a lot about the person. It tells me I am not hiring them.

I'm surprised these places aren't shut down by the govt.
A few did get shut down, but a ton of universities have online programs now, and a few use them almost exclusively to generate cash (see Grand Canyon and Liberty)

I am sure my degrees from UCLA are outdated.
Things have changed since the 1980’s.
At this point in my life I am retired and sold my shares in a business I started.
The only thing I look forward to is holding up people going to work during morning rush hour.
