Very possible. But the reality is if an employer wants to require you to go in person and also expects you to work from home, the employee has a choice to apply elsewhere.

But my question is whether or not employers are wrong for making this type of request of their employees? It’s hard to not see the hypocrisy.
Request very specific guidelines from the company on this matter to ensure both parties are on the same page going forward. It will be a subtle way of bringing their attention to their hypocrisy IF they indeed request workers to do both.

I don't get this. In fact it makes sense to me that the higher quality employees are the ones that don't have to be watched over or even be in office to do quality work.

Yep. Employers' urge to treat all employees the same in terms of the "back to the office" push seems to be leading employers to micromanage and clockwatch their quality employees.

Saddling your productive employees with bureaucratic bullshite makes them unhappy, less productive, and they get wandering eyes for an employer that gets out of their way and lets them do the work how they see fit.

My employer started bringing us back in the office. I realized that working from home made more sense for me so I took a position with a competitor that doesn't have an office here. 100% remote all the time except for a week every now and then when I go to home office.

If your employees can't do their work without you micromanaging, that's on you.

Agree 100% for Professional jobs.

Lower paying jobs/workforce is different. You must have assigned tasks/goals and also monitor, or nothing will get done.

There's some days I hate being self employed but damn does it beat reading some of these stories.
