Yale is a private school, do they get federal money? I know they get grants for research but I thought they were completely private.

For those unaware, it was when Oak Park and River Forest High School held a school student meeting in the auditorium – only the black students were allowed entry, the white students were told they were not permitted to attend.

If it really did happen, then because it's against Yale and the national frat organization's rules. And Yale gets some federal dollars, although a private university.

there is a big difference between a student meeting and a private fraternity party. Not sure how it works at LSU or anywhere else, but as a guy, if I wasn't invited and pretty good friends with a member of a fraternity, I wasn't close to being welcome at one of their private parties. I had friends in about 3 of them that I could bounce in and out of but I wouldn't venture tot he others.

It depends. Are the black kids part of a club? If it's not something that involves the entire student body I don't care.
If it's a student meeting pertaining to something like a fire drill then yes I would have a problem with it.

So do privately owned corporations and businesses. The university, as a whole, however, is not funded by the government.
