If serious yes buy it. Look for a model that has a single air mass sensor or has been converted to single. Shade less horsepower whole lot less hassle. 30k service is around 6k last time I asked, but typically are driven so infrequently most belts including timing done by age. Don't get anything except a manual tranny, the F1 transmission is cool but expensive as hell. Pump failure is over 12K again it's been awhile.
The exhaust if cracked will need to be replaced look for one already done Tubi is one mod other good ones as well. Check the shift from first gear to second after warmed up to feel for synchro wear. Interior is basic, some had sticky switch issues, where heat broke down the plastic and you get the idea.
Now the good. It's beautiful, it sounds unlike anything you have ever heard so nice, and has the advantage of using newer Ferrari manufacturing and quality control, yet was started under the direction of Enzo Ferrari and his touch. I don't keep up with Ferrari market anymore, but seventy seems on the high end compared to a few years ago, it's a fluid market and may be spot on so research. Lastly It is fun as hell but don't be mad when some dude in a Cayman S leaves you behind. Just drive it and enjoy. I would advise a look at a nice 328 model, just as beautify not quite as complex and equally fun. Love all things of beauty and this is definitely one of them. Ok on my soapbox now, but want to say if you do buy it drive it. Drive it hard, often, and enjoy, people who buy a car and put it away fearing depreciation should put money into tbills or such, cars are about enjoying life, not taking from it worrying over scratches and money costs. Go for it.

Resist urge for the early 360s they are relatively cheap, but ripe with many issues and expensive as an airplane to maintain, or go down one model with the 348 not a good design or execution. Most would agree, my experience is mostly Porsche, Bentley, and BMWs. I have heard many negative comments regarding the car including a call for a Vette. The new Vette is awesome, true, The 997 Porsche as well as later 996s, but are worlds apart from a Ferrari and can't compare, not for any other reason than design philosophy . Try on a few cars see what fits you and get it for you and how you feel driving it.

How long you think they can sit before driving , I'd like to have it Colorado for the summer

Let me share a story for all the Camaro lovers in here.

Once upon a time, Modnea made a car called the Dino. So not a Ferrari, it didn't even get a prancing horse badge. This was because of it's lowly Fiat engine.

A great friend of mines uncle had one in the late 80s and waited 2 years (the waiting list at that time) to get his new real Ferrari. He was happy to get rid of the Dino (named for Enzo's son).

Now, take your keyboards and search Dinos for sale. Your eyes will pop out of your head. Like all cars, ones made in Modnea have a bottom to their value and also a bottom to what is considered stylish. We all used to laugh at second gen Camaros, but now they're getting expensive and no longer regarded as jort wearing mullet having machines.

They only build 6000 cars a year. No matter what Ferrari one looks at, it's immediately rarer than anything mentioned here. Yeah, they cost a lot to maintain if you have problems, but to put it in the words of one of my Austrailian mates, they are sex, pure and simple.

These cars were made to be admired, built by people who love to build them in a town that looks more like a Ferrari theme park than a municipality in Bologna. Yeah, they need to be massaged but so do our wives. They are meant to be loved, and as long as someone has the ability to take care of it, there's nothing like it.

It truly is a special thing- yeah, you'll still be passed by all the Vettes out there, but at least you won't be turning the knobs on a Chevy Cavalier radio. This is an entusiast's car.

I heard awhile back they require extensive maintenance every 12k miles. Like $5000 worth.

Would much rather get an old muscle car.
And an m3 or c63 would be more fun to drive anyway.

Probably go with a less-than perfect 66 or 67 gto or maybe a cuda or challenger. I like resto-mods that are a little rough around the edges but still fast and loud.

In Louisiana, it has to be at least 25 y/o to be registered as an "Antique" and can not be modified from its original design.

There is another class referred to as 'street rod' and I think the vehicle must be manufactured before 1948.

Don't know about that, but I knew the 25 year mark meant something in LA.

Why the need to disparage taste, I've owned a Ferrari and It was fun as hell, just too expensive for me, but costs be damned yes I'd love another. Dad loved American street rods and my grandfather Vettes. Some I like some not, but all I can appreciate some aspect of. The new Corvette is truly exceptional as the new Mustang appears to be as well. I don't care for the Camaros retro design mainly because it sacrifices rear visibility and has somewhat poor fuel economy, but to someone else it's their favorite. So be it. Really the only car people I don't understand are the Model T collectors maybe some day I might change my mind.

There were actually more than one Dino's produced. The Ferrari version didn't have the prancing horse, but was all Ferrari with a 2.4 liter six cylinder which was basically half of the twelve cylinder base motor used in other applications. You're right on all the other statements but may have confused the two one of which was indeed a Fiat. A cheap 246GT is a thing of the past. Wonderful machine it is .

I know a guy who owns a Ferrari here. Mega Mega maintenance costs. Set of 4 tires costs $5K. He has to order them at the same time every year because the factory only make these fancy arse tires one month out of the year, whether he needs them or not. Can't get them anywhere else at any other time.

Makes BMW $1K " you know.......maintenance, we gonna reset your light and stuff...." look like a breeze.
