Getting into a ballpark fight is the last thing you'd want to do

this is true unfortunately
Well for starters you'd be going to jail. So there's your 5 year old watching their daddy being dragged away in handcuffs. That's going to leave some scars. Then on top of that you'll probably be barred from the ballpark permanently so either your kid is done with sports or at the least your involvement (even watching) them play sports is done.
But even more than all that, kids are learning from us at all times. Even more than the words we tell them, we teach them by our actions. They watch us to figure out they should act in any given situation. That's why how we as adults at the ballpark act in front of kids is so important. Whether we like it or not, we're constantly teaching them a lesson on everything from how to conduct themselves in public, how to compete, to how to resolve problem. For that reason we as adults (all of us) should carry ourselves in a manner we'd want our kids to carry themselves.

Baseball is the hardest sport to play
A little overbroad don't you think? Hardest in what way? Baseball is half sitting around eating sunflower seeds in the dugout and a quarter standing in the field waiting for the next batter/pitch. This is coming from a travel baseball dad.
My son comes home and collapses after soccer practice/games. There are no timeouts in soccer. I have seen many successful overweight professional baseball players. There are not many overweight professional soccer players.

I'm putting a coaches pitch team together for next year. It's a very competitive league we play in, especially our select league. No craziness, we just have good kids and good parents. Where do you live?

Well if your talking about "wooping" a coach's arse on the field in the middle of a t-ball game, then you do need a lecture on what is right and wrong.

They don't pay umps enough to put up with this schit.
Exact reason I quit doing it, not worth it at all. I was at the high school level though, parents will quickly ruin a sport. Good perspective for later in life though, I know what not to do.

You don't need a BR address. Would Central be too far?

This is ridiculous. Had similar experience with an irate machine pitch coach a few weeks ago. This dude has a long rap sheet of LL violations Keep in mind we are talking 7/8 years. His catcher blocked the plate without the ball with a runner coming into score. Ball comes in from CF...pitcher cuts it off and runs and tags the baserunner at home while the catcher is basically laying on the kid about a foot from the plate. HP ump (16 year old boy) called interference on the catcher and awarded the run...correct call. This guy comes out and goes postal. Threatens to beat the kid...who then immediately changed the call to an out. I was in the field, ran in and overruled the HPU and awarded the run. Now the guy wants to fight both of us. I toss him and the police end up basically dragging him off the field. TPOS move on his part. Not to mention his team was skulldragging this other team.
Had a similar incident a few weeks ago with opposing parents yelling "truck his arse" and "run his arse over" at our 8 year old catcher. One of the coaches then cursed out the umpire, was thrown out of the game and then came back onto the field and kicked dirt on the ump's shoes. Which one of you was it?

What time of year are we talking? He plays football in the fall. Games? No problem. Daily practice? May indeed be a problem
