I do t care. Hogan won. They should have let it stand. He hadn’t won a clean match in 5 years and I marked out.
Yeah, frick that. It was the First Nail in WCW coffin.
Sting was The Guy & they fricked him, in part to catch some heat from The ScrewJob and Hogan didn’t want to put The Stinger over.
Then dork arse Goldberg became the guy. Lame arse frick.
Had WCW put Sting in the top position to work with Nash, Hart & Page they would’ve been okay.*
Hart and Hogan should’ve been the immediate program.
Then he could have worked with Jericho, Booker T.
*(Scott Hall if he was sober)

Boneyard match was awesome. I’m surprised it was as good as it was seeing as Vince hated the Hardy compound, Wyatt compound stuff.
Ladder match was good. Owens/Rollins was good
Thrilled that Styles got to main event WrestleMania before he retires.

Vince does like that kind of stuff... so long as it comes from the mind of people directly working for him... and not the independent contractors who are on TV every week

I think the biggest issue WCW had with that feud was the crescendo built too soon
WCW saw SuperBrawl as its Wrestlemania... not Starrcade
so my guess they wanted the large moment to eventually happen at SuperBrawl (which... Sting did get a clean win over Hogan at SuperBrawl VIII in February 1998 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco)
but that moment was ruined by what happened at Starrcade '97

Never seen that kind of finish. Deserved an audience.
This. I’m watching it now. That ladder match had so many great moments that deserved a crowd reaction.

I’m not sure about that. Eric even said that Halloween Havoc was only second to Starcade.
I’ll have to check the archives.
Do you really think it peaked too soon?
They were over a year in at that point.
I will agree that Sting should have had some warmup against Savage or Hall first.
But yeah, man WCW(Hogan) fricked up everything.
The Hart Foundation could have reassembled in WCW while adding Benoit (or Jericho).
Misusing Bret was the second biggest mistake & it started in the same goddamn match.

I swore I remembered seeing or reading somewhere that WCW saw SuperBrawl as its top show of the year
and that's why I say it "peaked too early"... that's why they had the botched finish with Bret Hart & Nick Patrick at Starrcade '97... and the rematch at SuperBrawl VIII instead of the January PPV, Souled Out
BTW... Souled Out '98 had Bret Hart vs. Ric Flair... and that wasn't THE main event (Luger vs. Savage was... though Hart/Flair had the night's longest match)

WWE's The Bump has Zelina Vega on... and they showed the botched finish of that tag match where Cedric Alexander got knocked out and Andrade injured his ribs
ETA: and yes Zelina is wearing a giant dog collar around her neck... and there's a pussy on her bed

WOAH!!!!!!
Wiki says Cody Rhodes now owns the rights to the name SuperBrawl... bought it last November
I guess we'll be getting AEW SuperBrawl at some point

WCW had a big 5 - SuperBrawl, Great American Bash, Bash at the Beach, Halloween Havoc, & Starrcade

I always thought WCW had better wrestling than WWE. I think Vince did to if you think about it.

I have no idea what to think of these sunglasses Strowman's wearing during this interview on The Bump
just like that match... they're bowling shoe ugly

Possibly up until Hall & Nash and that wad mostly because they had a ton of NJPW recruits. No way their stateside wrestlers were better than WWE. Now if you want to include the NWA era you are probably right. WWF's high quality disappeared when they moved to emphasize the ROCK of Rock n' Wrestling.
