With some help. Cheap win. Hayes hasn’t won a major match without help.

I'm assuming it was so they could call up Breaker without making him look weak. I would have liked to see him absolutely floor Trick after paying respect to Mello though.

My thought exactly. After the events at WrestleCon I think Bron is fortune not to have the Steiner wrestling name. I'd say I'm looking forward to hearing both sides of what happened but the wrestling "reporters" are mostly left wing whackjobs...SRS and Cornette being two of the worst.

Are you referring to Rick’s comments to a trans performer?

Why does Vince with his moustache now resemble an old Vietnamese general

The whole situation seems a bit fishy. It's like the altercation SRS had at SS last year that he was taking shots while running a victory lap. Then the video came out where it became obvious he initiated it and then played the innocent victim. (The biggest reason I dumped my Fightful Patreon.) I'll wait until I see a video that shows the whole situation in context.

I don't think they'd call Bron Steiner up with the one sided narrative that's out there now. Unfortunately we have an ex- House Speaker who said out loud what we've known for the past few decades... you are guilty of any accusation until you prove yourself innocent. The Saudis wouldn't give a shite but if Vince is going to sell to Crapcast, FOX, or Disney it could've been an issue.

A few interesting results from yesterday's ROH show

The Embassy retaining the 6-man titles would make you think Brian Cage has re-uped with AEW/ROH after it was believed he was done with the company and some thought he might be a WWE target

Samoa Joe submitting Mark Briscoe... not giving Briscoe that singles title right out the gate... keep him chasing

NJPW getting a win over AEW talent with Tanahashi beating Daniel Garcia

Lucha Bros win the ladder match to become the new ROH Tag Champs

And Shibata winning the Pure Championship from Wheeler Yuta... great to see him wrestling successfully again after his near-death incident in the ring a few years ago

IMPACT WRESTLING'S GISELE SHAW
Claims Rick Steiner ...
WENT ON TRANSPHOBIC RANT

quote:

Gisele Shaw claims WWE HOF'er Rick Steiner hurled transphobic remarks at her during an appearance ... something the event organizers themselves seem to acknowledge happened.

The Impact Wrestling star made the accusation against the famed RS Friday, detailing what she says was an absolute tirade full of hateful language ... targeting her transgender identity. Shaw is a trans woman BTW, and came out as transgender last year at Pride Toronto.

Here's what she had to say about the interaction, which she says happened at WrestleCon Friday ... where Gisele was doing a signing. She writes, "I have been bullied all my life and have never stood up for myself because I’m scared that I would get beat up physically, mentally, or emotionally. The bullies in my life have always silenced me, but that ends today!"

Gisele goes on to say that, while walking to her table, she heard someone shouting, "you’re a man,” “you’re a dude,” “you’re a piece of trash,” “you are filth," and “get the f*** away from here." She didn't know who it was at first, but later says she heard it again -- and saw Steiner.

She says she confronted him about it on the spot -- saying, "Excuse me?" -- but claims he continued to tear her down in front of a lot of people ... including other wrestling talent.

She says other prominent stars were around, but didn't do anything about it. Gisele adds, "I am not writing this because I want sympathy. I am writing this because I am done being bullied to silence. Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility and I am standing up for myself and for other people who go through the exact same situation on a daily basis. I want everyone to know what kind of a deplorable person Rick Steiner is and that this cannot be tolerated. This keeps happening because people let it slide and do not take any action. If you do business with these types of people then I will not do business with you."

The official WrestleCon account apologized for what happened, specifically naming Shaw/the LGBT community -- but not saying Rick's name. They add, "The issue has been addressed and we hope the remainder of the convention can be a positive experience for all."

Steiner hasn't commented, and it's unclear what repercussions, if any, he'll face.
ETA: They've got a whole month and now more ridiculous days like "visability day".

I can't believe Steiner just started accosting Shaw unprovoked

There's got to be more to this story

Since it's wrestling I should say I think Sonya hits the balance right on. She's herself and has subtle symbols to support her LGBT community. I have ZERO problem with that part of their community. When they go out of their way to push it in people's faces is where they lose me. If this shim can wrestle a good match then why have to make a big deal about being trans? Ask Nyla Rose how pushing her trans status has worked out for her in wrestling's most liberal company.

The only place trans should matter is boys demanding to play in girls sports. Other than that, you live your life and I'll live mine.

And when do we have German-American, French-American, Polish-American, Italian-American, and British-American months? Hell...the first "history month" this country should have had was Native-American month (it is fascinating to read about their wars/alliances/lifestyles).

It sounds like something Scott could do but I don't see Rick being that guy. Hell I could see the Iron Shiek doing that before thinking Rick would!

I think Rick is on some school board... someone might've been antagonizing him about positions he's taken on the board maybe?

Yeah I vaguely remember hearing he was on a school board. I've been really surprised that Kane's comments about what going on in NYC haven't drawn much attention. I'm sure Cornette has thrown a party with how his show has got more political as he's drifted further left. (I don't even listen to it anymore.)

I'll ask this again later but Mania won't be close to us until the last year or two of this decade. Is Summer Slam a decent alternative?
