WWE Smackdown Live Thread: King Corbin Coronation Edition

All Hail the greatest thing to ever happen to Atlanta... getting sucked into the midcard vortex of evil
Smackdown tonight is in the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA
Tonight will see the coronation of the 2019 King of the Ring... Baron Corbin... will Corbin use his kingly powers for evil? stupid question... of course he will
Speaking of the midcard vortex of evil... Shane McMahon will tell the WWE Universe why he fired KO last week... spurring very audible chants of AEW
The newly face Queen of WWE... Charlotte Flair... is still apparently upset that she lost last night
Erick Rowan will have a sit down interview to discuss hooking back up with his former tag championship partner Luke Harper
6-man tag match as the New Day take on #FTRKO
plus more stuff on Smackdown
and the 2-night season finale of Straight Up Steve Austin concludes tonight with special guest, former NASCAR racer who could never live up to his daddy, Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
fun theory I heard earlier... the upside down graphics last night on Raw were done ON PURPOSE... like the Fiend is magically starting to take over production aspects on Raw... and we'll get more funkiness like that as we get closer to Hell in a Cell

Makes sense about the Fiend taking over production, his firefly logo was upside down during it's last segment before he came out.

yeah... and the FFFH logo going all funky for 90 seconds at the end of Raw
if this is how they do it... I imagine the Raw before HiaC will open with the Firefly Fun House open

I think we should try to keep both shows in one thread, as difficult as that will be. I wouldn't want Chicken to shut this shite down if it starts turning into a wrestling board.

they will be consolidated when AEW's show starts... but that's still 2 weeks away

That's a nice way for them to cover their mistake. I read Kevin Dunn was off last night so most likely the scrub director screwed up.

ETA: but it happened too much in different segments... so I'd almost be willing to buy that it was a Fiend thing for the time being

He hasn't had any matches
He has had one match and it was a squash. Why isn't he wrestling at least once per week if not more? He needs to be featured in every single hour of RAW at least, if not Smackdown as well. Pull double duty until the wildcard rule goes away.

Having him wrestle ruins the mystique. He doesn't need to be in the ring every week. We've all seen plenty of Bray Wyatt matches.

The Fiend doesn't need to wrestle weekly... everyone already knows Bray Wyatt is good in the ring
and in fact... not wrestling weekly probably works best with the gimmick
you don't want to overexpose the Fiend character... Raw Fiend appearances should be limited to mandible clawing someone and done
the only matches you're going to get from Fiend right now on Raw are squashes
Bray making appearances from the FFFH keeps everyone wanting the Fiend more
I wouldn't put the belt on him this quickly either... but I can't say I'm 100% against it

WWE is going to somehow find a way to keep the Universal Title off the Fiend...
that way when the draft comes... he can be drafted to Smackdown & Fox and run roughshod all over the new SD
though if Fox is dead set on SD being the "competitve/fight sport" type brand... then the Fiend may not work with that

Roman is the heir apparent to the WWE title in my opinion, just need to get the title on a heel first.
I am over Kofi's title run, he is well overdue to lose the belt
I think Corbin gets drafted to Smackdown, Kofi loses the belt to Corbin, and the Roman takes it off Corbin
If not Corbin, then Daniel Bryan, which would work well with the eventual Daniel Bryan-Roman feud
