I had thought Fiend would cost Orton in the Rumble. Also thought Alexa was weirdly used.
Lastly, the women of old shouldn’t have been in the match. NXT women is so deep should have used more of them but I did find it interesting that Baszler threw pretty much all of them out except for maybe Fox

As soon as Orton went out I knew 1. he'd be back in the last minute or two of the match and 2. He would eliminate Edge or Edge would eliminate him.
Carmella got the worst of it tonight.
So consensus: Women's Rumble was better than the Men's, right?

Yes womens match was much better but men’s was still good. Carlito looked great and prob can still go. Shame they won’t bring him back for more than a producer gig

1. I am really surprised neither Brock Lesnar nor The Fiend showed up in the Men's Rumble
2. Billie Kay is the best talker on the women's roster and even if she doesnt have much going for her in the ring I hope they have a lot planned for her otherwise to utilize her mic skills.

The speculation this morning was that Alexa could very well win both the men and women's rumbles.
That theory was quashed in the 15 seconds Alexa lasted in the women's rumble.
Makes you wonder where they are taking the Fiend gimmick from here. 2 weeks ago Alexa was shooting fireballs into Randy Orton's face and yet in the Rumble the power of the Firefly Funhouse was not enough to even make her eliminate anyone.

It's funny that they split up The IIconics to help push Peyton, but Billie has done more thus far.
Hot take: If Charlotte leaves WWE's employment tomorrow, I won't miss her. Shes been sucking the air out of the women's division for far too long and has been the catalyst for holding back far more talented women for year's now based on her name.

They should have then immediately put Peyton in a singles feud, not paired her up with Lacey Evans

Charlotte is terrible and Rhea is just an uglier version of her. I'm glad Bianca won. Its the only match that really helped make a new star. I thought we might see Becky or Ronda return since Peacock would want some big stars for their first WM but I guess they can come in later. Ronda is still under contract until April 11, which is night 1 this year.
I had seen rumors that Bray Wyatt in his normal human form would win the Rumble. I also saw where Roman's opponent at WM is basically confirmed to be Seth so I assumed he was winning. I'm guessing this means we get Drew vs Edge and Edge will probably win because WWE refuses to make new stars.

Chances are we weren’t the only ones. And this wasn’t the first case. The commonality is WWE writers believe it makes perfect sense. Still, glad I tuned into this rumble I didn’t watch much last year it just wasn’t the same. Good stuff with KO & Reigns and I was hoping for a surprise in the rumble that was legit like cm punk or Carlito not the damn hurricane but the last ten minutes of it was pretty entertaining especially the Big E vs Lashley confrontation onward. And mainly, damn right good for Edge.

Some of us were smart and got timestamped predictions put up on Facebook. Mine weren't the greatest (perfect on Roman & Drew but forgot MOV for Sasha & had Shayna tapping Asuka out...Alexa/Bryan were my RR picks), so I'm all for throwing the whole event out of tabulation.
We've got to figure out a backup plan though. Chicken not feeding his hamsters kinda screwed the FWL out of a big 4 PPV. Maybe we need to start posting PPV predictions in the SD thread after the go home show. Those picks being the official ones unless superseded by the traditional "day of" FWL picks.

I think there's a winding road that gets to that match. I thought I heard they have 3 PPVs scheduled between now and Mania. Its rushed but they could blow off the Orton/Fiend thing over the next 2 PPVs so they can do their frickery before fans are there live again. But what you you do with Brey for WM? I wouldn't mind a battle of spears for the WWE title, Roman/Bryan for Uni title, Charlotte/Rhea for Raw title, and Belair pinning Bayley in a triple threat match for Sasha's SD title. Then if they can figure it out have the blowoff for Fiend/Orton there. Somewhere along the line they're going to move the MITB yet again...maybe that's how the belt gets to Randy. Edge over Drew with Orton cashing it in after the match outta nowhere.

ETA: Forgot all about Helms. Wasn't he on AEW not too long ago? Desperation would seem to make sense for Vince to put him on TV so soon after.
