I can't get NJPW on my cable lineup. I might be inclined to check it out if I could but I'm not going to pay to watch it.
If you view your time as having value, you’re cheating yourself by wasting it on weekly, main roster, WWE drivel and missing the NJPW shows and tourneys. The annual G1 climax tournament is about to start soon, and it’s just amazing television.
I digress. The WWE network is awesome value for weekly NXT/Takeover alone. Raw and SD! Are best enjoyed the next day on commercial free Hulu unless something big is going down.
ETA: the term “Indy wrestling” almost implies minor league to the casual fan. If you throw out NXT, which ironically enough is the WWE “Indy” product, nothing the WWE produces can come close to the product in Japan right now. Dominion was 5 hours long and it felt like 2 hours. I honestly can’t stress enough if you spend a few hours a week watching WWE, you really owe it to yourself to see NJPW. It’s not Ring of Honor or TNA.

see I won't go this far
each company has their own idea for their product... and both have very good performers doing very good work
do I wish WWE would change things some times... sure
just like NJPW did what I think they've NEEDED to do for a while now... take the heavyweight title off of Okada (thought Naito should've won it at WK)... but Omega has deserved that belt and I'm so happy he has it now... just like I'm sure I'll be ecstatic when Braun finally gets the Universal Title

so tonight on Raw we get the rematch between Rollins & Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship
I smell a Drew McIntyre interence incoming. With that, that said feud will lead into both of them being included in the Extremes Rules match and then continuing at SummerSlam. Rollins winning SummerSlam match and interjecting himself in the Universal Title picture.

o/u 1.5 years Omega is in WWE. It’s inevitable.

Over easy. Not even close. He might come eventually, but I’d be more surprised to see him in WWE within 1.5 years than I would to see him not come at all.

WWE actively helping promote the "Elite vs. New Day" video game thing definitely caught my eye
and then WWE finding a Kenny Omega video in their tape library and putting it up on their WWEN collections raised my eyebrows even more
WWE's doing more and more with independents... something will come from this
ETA: in fact... ESPN just sent a push notification about an article on the bolded topic not even 5 minutes ago

oh I know
you think WWE & NJPW would ever put on some kind of supershow like WCW used to?
That's what helped build the event that's now Wrestle Kingdom

That’s an oversimplification at best. I’m 31. Id much rather watch something tuned to my age group. People can watch NJPW or not. I still watch the WWE PPVs even though I think Vince doesn’t care two craps about whether I’m enjoying it. I think people are robbing themselves of enjoyment if they refuse to try NJPW out, especially if they watch WWE weekly.

New Japan is way more entertaining the wrestling is good. They actually push the limit. Plus they have great post match interviews

I was told that was such a great match and I watched it and I just didn't see it. I've watched NXT a few times before. I've been told NXT was the greatest thing ever. I just don't see it when I watch.

There is some of the main roster WWE stuff that is bad but I wouldn't call the whole thing drivel and I'm really skeptical of the idea that it sucks and NJPW is the greatest thing ever.

I completely understand... BTW I'm 33
I guess Vince's idea is 3 > 1
appeal to kids and get the parents as well... or get dad only
he dabbled in the "dad only" model in the attitude era... it was the right time for that in wrestling I guess
now... he helps keep dad's attention with Alexa & Mandy & Becky

I’m sure WWE would kill to have Kenny Omega. I’m sure it burns Vince’s arse a ton to see the praise NJPW is getting. I’m sure they can back up the Brinks truck with the new TV deals in ways NJPW can’t. Omega freaking loves Japan though. He’s a gamer first and a wrestler second passion wise. Lastly, people are reading way too much into all this going on. What does the WWE have to lose by spotlighting the Elite? NJPW is not a threat to them. Xavier Woods basically begged people at E3 to stir the pot and make noise to get the cross promotion match going. WWE gauging interest is not this crazy concept.
And regarding the bolded text and ESPN, the WWE is airing a UK show on its network today...
