He will blame this on Vince McMahon, too.

Well he also had a stroke so he's had a pretty rough go of it.

Montreal screw job doesn't help either.

I hated Canada because of him in the late 90s. But that's a testament to his work.

before he went american-heel, he was a favorite of mine too. He helped put some of the best guys over, and it's a damn shame what happened to Owen.

Hope he puts the sharpshooter on cancer.

Time isn't very friendly to any of us. Seems like it's even worse to these wrestlers. I guess it's to be expected when you abuse your body like they do. I'm not a fan of wrestling but I respect what they do and the toll they put their body through.

No. The historical associations are mainly correlations not causation

The relationship is complex. The most current model is linked below.

quote:

Prostate growth is exquisitely sensitive to variations in androgen concentrations at very low concentrations, but becomes insensitive to changes in androgen concentrations at higher levels.

LINK

There are few bold people (the author of the paper I linked being one of them) treating hypogonad men with active prostate cancer (on surveillance regimens) with TRT (with no progression of cancer)

The best analogy is using a wilted plant. Water (testosterone) may stimulate the plant (prostate) to grow. At some point further watering the plant will not cause it to grow into the size of a Sequoa (cancer)

Other confounding factors likely played a more important role (generalizing to most wrestlers as I do not know specifics on him)

Genetics
Lifetime of physical /emotional stress
Substance abuse (steriods may have contributed through the cascade of psychological issue that evolve)
Other contributing health conditions (Diabetes and other pro-inflammatory states)

He and The Undertaker were my two favorites as a kid - one of the first events I went to in the early 90s had them both against each other in the main event.

In the 90s I would've never pulled for anyone over the "phenom" undertaker, besides Austin.

I have advanced prostate cancer and am doing ok 5 years post diagnosis. There are many treatments and new drugs now. I think he has many years left. I like what he says about being open about it and fighting

My tribute to BRET HART!!!!!

I know that wrestling is fake
but lets just give it a take,
this guys arms were huge
and was never made to be a stooge
even with the screwjob in montreal
you gave it your all
you always had the biggest sack
and took it to the wolfpac
we only know you from TV
but you did as much as you could be
you had hair like rick james, and this is true
but there is no man you would not go through
you always gave the best you can
BECAUSE YOU ARE THE HITMAN!!!!!!!!

GET WELL SOON, BRET!!!!!!!!!
