I'm having trouble thinking of a tag team that went past 5 years. Even those late 80s teams split in some fashion. I think it would have already happened if Xavier wasn't hurt. Big E could be a monster heel foil to the remaining 2.

New Day sells a lot of merch and is over with kids. Maybe Xavier Woods breaks off and Kofi and Big E stay together but there will still be some version of the group.

that was a discussion on 1 of the wrestling podcasts I listened to
the consensus was they don't really need to turn any of them heel for a break-up... just have them go their separate ways
like Roppongi Vice did in NJPW (after they lost a match trying to regain the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship... Trent Baretta grabbed a mic and paraphrasing said 'look I want to go into the heavyweight division and chase dreams there' and Rocky Romero paraphrasing said 'I understand... good luck' and that was that... Roppongi Vice was done)

Heck, Kofi had a pretty big singles run recently. Not sure why they couldn't do that again with one of the other too and still keep the group together if they wanted to.
