No kidding. Cameraman up front, cameraman in the back driver's side, producer who's phone was usually going off in the rear passenger side, and I think they had a fixed camera on the driver/cop.
My theory is that cutting the producer and a camera man is the reason for the "significant delay". They also aren't in K-9 units so most chases are limited to vehicular. The secondary reason could be their departments eliminating the "pick-up" units which means the deputy is out of action for at least an hour while transporting the perp.

bro... you see this case just now on Live PD Wanted?
dude walks off a public bus in Los Angeles and is immediately sucker punched and knocked out cold... then the suspect stomps on his face and walks away as he's laying unconscious basically under the bus
and what's worse... there's like 10 people just standing around who do absolutely nothing... and even a woman who just steps over the victim to get off the bus and continues about her merry fricking way
a lot of heartless people in this world

technology has surely advanced some since I left the news industry in 2013
but when I was a news producer... we would do live shots with a system called TVU... which was basically a computer that came in its own special backpack
plug the professional camera in... let it connect to a cell phone signal... and boom live shot up and running
ETA: shoot... by now... the system I said was in the backpack could probably all be integrated into cameras
