This has been done before and I always thought it was pretty neat. Guy served our country against the forces of evil and about to celebrate his 100th birthday.

That guy doesn't look 100 years old.....if his pants weren't pulled up to his armpits, I would put him at 65

Story about it

Painter, who served in the Army during World War II, says he appreciates the cards but wishes his wife of 65 years were alive to see them.

"I think about her every day," Painter said. "I know she'd be happy, too."

We need to send him one that’s 'signed' by all of us on the OT wishing him a happy birthday, thanking him for his service, and letting him know that his wife may not be there to share in person but is looking down on him and enjoying all the cards he’s getting - especially the one from the LSU forum.

Chicken can you drop that in the mail for us?

Nice

What do you teach? I think it would make a cool history lesson for kids, this way it makes WW2 a more tangible thing rather than just something in a book because they would actually be writing something to a soldier who served in it.

It broke my heart to see what he said about how he thinks of his wife everyday. Nobody thinks of having to outlive their spouse.

Whoa whoa whoa. I thought we were all boycotting Lexington, VA because of the Red Hen.

Let's pick a lane, guys.

Nope, in fact their business has boomed since. Turns out having an angry mob of out of towners threatening a business is a good way to drum up a lot of support from the locals.

World Geography, covering Europe right now so won’t be difficult to incorporate into the lesson plans
