I’ve got my eye on Picayune or Carrere. Had long thought Mount Hermon or Franklinton, as I have family in Covington. But those towns offer nothing. I think Picayune area will experience a lot of growth, and it’s not far from northshore.

I know it’s not that far from us, but dang…Picayune seems country AF.

I don’t know that, lol. I just “discovered” it a few years ago and met some people who became friends there and in Carriere. They are building in Carriere. A friend in that area says alot of young families moving in. It remains to be seen, but I like it over there and still being semi close to family, plus no state taxes on retirement income is a plus.

Florida isn’t far behind. There is just some coastal wealth masking it. Don’t let those brand new Arby’s and dollar Generals and cheap houses fool you.
