Healthcare systems, hit hard by Covid...

Yeah our healthcare system was hard hit too, with surgeries postponed to avoid viral spread.

It’s not perfect but we don’t wait 12 hours for a bed in the US. Even our elective procedures are caught up.

Let's revisit this post, which was garbage anyway because bronc doesn't work in healthcare. His wife is a nurse

Now the nurses husband is telling an actual doctor how the healthcare industry works.

This is a perfect microcosm of dialogue on the internet.

Americans should really educate themselves on what really drives health cost in America. It ain't the insurance companies as they make pennies for profits.
Well, educate us.

Who or what is making all the profits? The price of healthcare seems insane most times. I had an angiogram last year that was over $15,000. Who made the profit off of that? The hospital, the doctors?

Ever been in a VA Hospital? The NHS is exactly the same. The best Doctor's and Nurses in the UK are in the privately insured health systems. 999 is overtaxed as the Ambulance Service is nothing but a taxi service. GP's are literally on every corner but people don't use them because they're thought of as hacks, and do nothing more than refer people to A&E. 6 hr plus
wait times are the norm not the exception.

No idea what argument you were trying to make, but I do find the "how we got here" story an interesting one.

Centralized govt action always leads to unintended consequences. Giving government a monopoly on health care will no doubt end up creating more layers and more expensive health care, not less. It will also lead to more rationing, which is how the gubment operates.

Monopolies are never the best choice.

That’s 26,000 a year. I do believe the us statistics on people who die due to a lack of health insurance is at 45,000 a year.
So, that’s less than double the deaths.

The US population is 5 times the UK population (334+ million vs 67+ million), so you just proved how much better our healthcare is. Thanks.

Just say you don't want minorities and the poor to have benefits, it would be a lot more honest..
