They damn sure should NOT be eligible for ITEP. They create hardly any jobs.
Farmers just aren't used to the property taxes most businesses in Louisiana pay.
It is time to reform property tax. We use all these BS programs that allow the state to have inordinate power and we should end it. End the homestead exemption and the ITEP and lower the millage so the collections are the same. Make taxes fair.
This is a ridiculous debate--I can build a trailer park on farm land in Washington or Tangipahoa parish but I can't put in a solar farm??? How stupid is that?

Hopefully by getting rid of it.

Sources of California power generation by hour
I don’t feel like starting a new thread here but this is California’s power usage broken down by source throughout each day.
They do get a lot of their energy from renewables. They also get a lot from natural gas, and when the renewables aren’t working, like at night or days that don’t have wind, natural gas is relied upon to pick up the slack. We should be building more nat gas combine cycle cogeneration power plants to power this country. They are relatively cheap, scaleable, dependable, and can throttle up and down very easily.
Unlike all renewable energy. Until battery technology advances dramatically, renewables just won’t be able to handle the load. It’s stupid to turn away from natural gas right now.

Why not build them on bill gates land? Everyone wins.

We have one of the highest rates of cancer in the country yet we are worried about solar power pollution? C'Mon man
True but California still has like 7 times the amount of cancer deaths.
Ms has the highest rates of cancer but have less people that die of cancer than Louisiana.

It’s because of all the massive industry there polluting the water. Duh.
Nothing to do with health if the population, only industry.
