You’re right, and I’m not really worked up about it as much as I’d just like to know if there are things people would do in bawking rules that might get them in trouble for something greater than themselves, as that was on this lady’s conscience afterward as she felt cowardice for not singing. I can see either side of the argument, but it did kind of rub me the wrong way to hear the reasoning of the airline for not allowing the singing because it might be offensive to a couple of foreigners on the flight. That is actually offensive to me that people singing their national anthem in their own country would be offensive to them. I’d certainly never be offended at French people singing their anthem in France, or any people singing their national anthem in their own country. Exactly how big of an arse hole do you have to be to be offended at something like that? It’s baffling. The fact the airline said they buckled because of that is pretty nauseating to be quite honest.
