But Cowboy Kip and Company will just pocket that extra change and tell you we dont have enough funds for it. In all honesty though, a toll road is the only way to successfully approach it.

Is there an issue with a foreign private corporation exercising imminent domain?

Yes, I would be in favor of a gas tax or a toll to pay for a loop.

You want nice shite, institute tolls so we don't have to rely on the federal funds to do shite.
You know Louisiana folk ain't gonna pay extra for nothing.

I'd much prefer a toll. I could count on one hand how many times a year id use it.

My sister works for DOTD as an engineer. She siad yesterday why we don't have funds

Force all the through traffic 18 wheelers to take the bypass and charge them. Problem solved. Unless you are Michael Hingle or Gordon McKernan.

Tolling the bypass won't reduce the traffic through town. SH-130 around Austin is a ghost Town even with an 80 mph speed limit. Toll I10 through town to force people around. Not sure if you can toll an interstate though.

I would pay $5 to $10 to bypass Baton Rouge and not have to deal with that traffic.
