How many are they going to make? 10% of their production and sales would have to be this truck.

Cheaper to replace a gas tank on an F150 or the batteries on a Tesla?

Not sure why the comparison, but you can replace newer Tesla batteries by cell. So they aren't too bad.

They don't have transmissions, radiators, emissions equipment, unreliable engines, etc. like the Ford has. You won't have to worry about a blown head gasket, Transmission fluid, or oil sludging in the Tesla.

But yeah, you will likely have to replace at least one or two battery cells before 150,000 miles.

It wouldn't shock me at all if the Tesla costs half of what the Ford costs to keep on the road.

Over the first 11k miles, my 2019 F-150 w/the 5.0 Coyote V-8 is averaging close to 21 mpg in mixed city/highway driving....no thanks.

They need to rework the styling from the A pillar forward

It really is a tired design. And I feel like their updates make it look a tiny bit worse each time.

So this means about 16mpg in Ford language?

Never.

Would never be caught dead in a hickemup truck.

Not impressed. Hybrid drives should have small diesels, with dual input transmissions and no electric-only modes of operation.

The hybrid drive trains like this are the near future IMO, with full diesel-electric propulsion to follow, to eliminate drive train loss.

I had my third brain surgery, followed by 3 months of radiation and then a year of chemotherapy. I still have a high grade malignant tumor that we are monitoring via MRI every 3-4 months. Since I finished treatment, everything has been stable.

All the new f150 body styles look like that baw. Looks good but I think the previous body style was their best yet. But the new one is growing on me. I've only seen f250s in the 2021 model so far in real life though, which surprises me because usually the new f150s are everywhere in La once they drop.

Edit: the truck's capacity to serve as a generator is pretty impressive though. Its basically made for Hurricane season.

Combined output for this powertrain is a stout 430 horses and 570 pound-feet of torque—gains of 30 ponies and 70 pound-feet versus the updated nonhybrid EcoBoost 3.5-liter.

frick yeah I’d drive it. That’s a lot of power. Not crazy about headlights and grill look bc they look like the super Duty but no big deal.

My only concern would be the reliability. My Tundra is low tech and low mpg but it also doesn’t have any repair bills.

Terrible turn radius. It’s like driving a tank.

Tundra 5.7L gets about 14 MPG. The Non-Hybrid F-150 gets about 20 MPG. So it costs an extra $500-$600 per year to own a Tundra if you drive 20,000 miles per year.

Not even counting the additional upfront costs of the Tundra, the Ford is already $3500-$4200 ahead if you keep your trucks for 7 years. Meaning you can probably replace the Ford's transmission or head gaskets once and still come out ahead.

Resale Value of all full sized trucks are very good right now, and Ford is probably the worst of them. That might be where the Toyota could potentially make up the difference in initial purchase price. Assuming it does, you are still spending approximately the same to keep a truck with fewer features and less technology for 7 years.

My 18 gas 5.0 got like 18 before a level. 24 is a major stretch for any full size super crew gas truck. I browse f150forum sometimes and a guy has a thread modding the hybrid f150 and he says he gets 16 mpg granted he says he drives like he isn't worried about gas mileage though fwiw. Which for a hybrid seems absurd but that is all I have read to go off as they are so new.
