I had a rental recently with lane assist.
Super Cruise is about 100 miles ahead of the Lane Assist technology in other trucks. It's a true hands free driving system for highways.

ANY Tundra, Tacoma is vastly better & more reliable than anything GM makes & I’m not liking the pics so far of ‘22 Tundra
I'm a Toyota guy, but I've also had excellent luck with GM trucks and Honda cars. They may not be building Land Cruisers, but they know what their way around what they do best. And definitely better than any non-Toyota competitor in their respective core competencies.

And the first pic they show is the damn thing on top of a mountain.
The biggest news is the ZR2 version, which has the only locking front diff in the half ton segment. It's supposed to be an excellent off road machine.
Looking forward to the Tahoe ZR2.

GM has some of the worst, cheap plasticky interiors in the industry
WTF? GM has my favorite interior. It's why I bought a GM truck after test driving every brand. Everything is in a location that is easy to use, its comfortable, and feels solid.

I had a rental recently with lane assist. It was cool for about an hour. Driving in west texas you cant use your turn signals if you need to drive aggresive. Found it fricking with me and the beeping when I changed lanes without signalling became annoying
You should be able to turn it off.
Granted, on a rental it's probably not easy to figure out how.

Wow. Game changer
Yea I turned it off. Still was impressed with the ability. I drive a 2010 and 2011 truck. So I dont have all these new luxuries on a daily basis

How is this a game changer?!! Doesn't come close to a Raptor or Dodge TRX. Hell, the Raptors been out for 10 years & GM is just now deciding to compete?!?

These shocks blow fox shocks out the water IMO. 2010 raptor owner with the 6.2

That plus the availability of a locking front diff gives it a tremendous advantage over the off road hardware offered by the competitors. They basically made a bigger, more powerful, and better equipped version of the Colorado ZR2, which is a good thing.

If they can fit this engine in the next gen Colorado, they wont need that 2.8L diesel option or the V6. That much torque in a lighter mid sized pickup would be very responsive. It’s probably very fast in the heavier Silverados.
I imagine most buyers will opt for one of the V8’s, but that little 2.7L appears to be extremely powerful for its displacement.

They put paddle shifters on a truck. COME ON.
It was already stupid when they're on sedans.
Otherwise, I like it. Get rid of those soft shifter on the console and put it on the dash like in their SUV's.

If you get a bench seat, they have a column shifter.

Is 2022 the model year where the vehicle will not start unless the driver has the seat belt on?
Every new vehicle by 2023 I think. But I can see how it's easily defeated with just a spare buckle.

Im debating even getting 4 wheel drive in my next truck. Even offroad i barely use it
I think Chevy, GMC, and Toyota will let you get an automatic locker (G80 locker in GM's case) or a Limited Slip rear end without opting for four wheel drive.
That will get you through a soggy pasture if you are careful, or an algae-covered boat ramp with a little bit of wheel spin. And you net a good bit of savings in fuel economy. And it doesn't snow on the gulf coast enough to need four wheel drive on pavement.

They forgot to put a truck bed on it.
