Buy it new if you plan on getting it registered. You will have to pay taxes on it anyway and will have to go to the courthouse downtown to pay the local taxes, so add another 3 hours to that total. A used boat in state you don't have to, but since it's out of state you will. And that's assuming the guy selling the used boat has the registration paperwork. If he doesn't you can't get it registered. You said it's a small boat, but even if it's propelled by a trolling motor it has to be registered unless it stays on private waters.

Sure why not. Listen to an audio book and enjoy myself

I just read this in the voice of Joe Pesci and I have to say, he makes a really good argument.

No, the other movie, My Cousin Vinny.

No. I would pay the extra 300 and buy locally if all is the same. When you factor gas and the time it takes you to drive you may come out a few bucks ahead.

In 7 hours my truck would burn almost that much gas

I drove round trip from NOLA to Delta Downs for a free 42" TV.
I returned it for a Best Buy gift card amounting to close to $400.
Ended up getting a 55" for about $80 out of pocket (not including a tank of gas.)
