Would you be a 911 operator?

Couldn't do it. First kid that calls me with something like that and I would catch a murder charge.

The job is fairly interesting, often frustrating, and thankless. I don’t know that I would call it creepy though. I’ve had calls that make me feel helpless, calls that make me want to scream, and calls that make me want to reach through the phone and choke someone.
We do have to go through quite a bit of training, depending on where you are, before you are cleared to work the floor though. For example at our agency you have to have the FL state certification 232hrs Emergency Medical Dispatch 48hrs then our training program is another 300+ hours.

Thanks for all you do, lot of downtime I suppose?

A solider I worked with in the Army became one when she got out. She said they have gotten crazy calls and some like this that are hard to deal with. It is a job personally that I would not want.
