Bastrop is in the Morehouse system. The a/c went out at Bastrop high and at delta jr high a couple of weeks ago. The students have been going a half day until the systems are replaced. Imo,anyone at Bastrop high has less than a 10 % chance of being middle class.

Bastrop is a town where if someone had good sense they would have left when the paper mill shut down.

This website will give u a good picture of a school. greatschools.org

This is their rating. LINK. They have a 2 out of 10. A horrible school to attend if you love your kid.

East Carroll Parish would be on the short list

They have actually improved alot. Morehouse is the worst school district in NELA.

I always heard that if you were in NELA, your best bet is to stick with private or charter schools. Is that true?

Sacred Heart (private), and Pine Prairie are the only two high schools I would consider sending my kids to.

I went to one, and have family in the other. Both are mediocre schools.

Mamou, VPHS, and Basile are in the "frick no" category.

EIHS is the same but the entire district probably deserves some credit for retaining good students at MSA East. Having a quality magnet school helps boost overall district numbers.
