Miami if you have to go through customs. I will always fly home through Texas if I have to.
Two words: Global Entry.
Customs in Texas can be just as bad if you lend right after a 747 from SYD or an A380 from FRA and 400 people are in front of you.

Tocumen? Albrook (the other intl airport) makes PTY look like JFK. It was an old airfield built by the US and converted into an airport. Much better location than PTY.

I'll tell you my favorite airport in the States though, and it is shockingly Detroit. It is perfectly run, easy to catch flights, and has bars and restaurants all over the place. The only airport I've gone to that comes close is Hong Kong.
Truth. City of Detroit has issues but the renovated terminals @ Detroit Wayne Co Int'l (especially Delta's McNamara T) are the coolest, most modern in the States....It's a world hub for a reason. Good restaurants , decent shopping, & very easy to get around, especially with inter-terminal train. To top it off, the tunnel that connects to the commuter terminal has a very impressive light/sound display. The worst is Miami... Hands down.

I think that was the name of it. It was back in 2007 when I was down there on business.

Customs at Dulles is fricking awful. I felt like I was at a giant DMV. White walls, fluorescent lighting, lazy employees, and endless lines of fat people. It was a wonderful welcome home to the States.

Chita, Russia
Had to wait in -20 temp for luggage to come off an outside conveyer belt. Dimly lit, scary hell hole.

I've heard that JFK and LAX are the worst for customs with 2+ hours being normal.

Charles de Gaulle has to be the worst airport in a major city throughout the world. That place blows.

Charlotte is my hometown airport and ive always liked it, but ive never had to connect there. There is definitely a major need for some sort of inter-terminal transportation because itt has grown tremendously in the last ten years, and is planning on continued expansion including a fourth parallel runway.

I always enjoy going to the different airports too

Malabo, Equatorial Guinea in about 2002. Was an open air cinder block building. There was a some vertical slot like openings that they threw everyone's luggage into and people dug through the pile inside the building.
I can see Malabo from where I am on a clear day. Douala airport doesn't have AC up till today. There is one little bar that only holds 3 people inside. It has a half arse AC.

Kansas City is the worst airport in a large US city. I don't know what the hell is wrong with those people.
Binghamton, NY is the worst airport in the US served by commercial carriers. And it's not even close.

Miami and Jamaica in the same day at the time when Carlos Dudus had just been extradited to the US after the most bloody drug war/mini revolution in Jamaican history as of late...yup, me and the wife were there at that exact moment on the southern side of the island.
