I barely know who Scheffler is, but some guy on espn just said that he “is the best compartmentalizer in golf since Tiger Woods”…. If that’s true, then i expect him to come out and play like the equivalent of if Michael Jordan dropped 75 pts in a game .

these silly announcers keep trying to make it out like a big deal,
I think the big deal is how this shines a light on the fact we have some really dumbasses in law enforcement.

They reported that the Mayor has now gotten involved. This cop is fricked and rightfully so.

I imagine most of the time, cops direct traffic FOR the golfers entering the facility. He's probably driven through many of these as he's the one they're meant to direct through.
Maybe? I think so I guess...

They are going to be extremely embarrassed when they finally have to release the bodycam footage. Very, very embarrassed.

Not so sure. Unfortunately we probably need to know what the mayor looks like first.

This is why you don’t have pga championship in places like Kentucky

The ESPN reporter played audio of the interaction. The cop was the one escalating the situation.
That's the hub bub here locally as well.
Some things of note are that the cops aren't clearly identified by their yellow vests, not all are marked police. It's a pretty dark area on that part of Shelbyville Road since it's far enough down from the light pollution of the Middletown area.
LMPD had established a protocol that they were allowing PGA staff and golfers around the pedestrian accident (Shelbyville Road is a major thoroughfare and they had it completely blocked off due to the fatality). Scheffler was just following that protocol. The cop, for whatever dumbass reason, tried to stop him and got his dick hurt when he kept going. Scheffler did stop a few yards ahead at the entrance (right off Shelbyville Road) and the cop reached in his car to drag him out.
What SHOULD have happened is the cop should've addressed the issue, maybe gave Scheffler a bitching for not stopping when he asked, and let him continue on.
Instead, in typical LMPD fashion, we'll now see ANOTHER lawsuit (we're over $40 million in the last 5 years due to their general incompetence BTW) and the PGA won't come anywhere near Louisville costing the economy millions of dollars.

Are you suggesting they should have just left the body in the road? Or would delaying an hour or so hurt anyone?
I think they did what they needed to and should have done. Aside from the whole situation with Scottie being way bigger than it probably needed to be.

Seems like a classic case of…

Please elaborate. Because they might have cops who don't know who Scottie Scheffler is?

Is Scheffler registered as a Dem or Rep.

Based on teh facts, no citizens should be arrested and charged with a felony for this situation. Not knowing who he is is irrelevant in my mind.

You ever drove by an accident and they stop traffic to let a ambulance or fire truck to pull out?
Except that didn’t happen here. You are still making sh*t up. Take a breather, sport.

I'm assuming the felony is stemming from the cop being dragged for a while after deciding to latch onto his car before it stopped

They just interviewed the local attorney hired on his behalf on ESPN+.
They said the cop who arrested him wasn't part of the group working the tournament entrance.
What a complete embarrassment for L'ville PD. Valhalla can forget hosting a a major for a few decades now.

So Scheffler got dropped off at the course at 9:10

You know, I actually get what kengel is saying. The cops probably should've shot Scheffler in case he was a terrorist trying to ram the police working the accident. You can never be too careful
