I agree with this. I did use to be bartender and server. And had a guest from England tell me service is so much better in America.
If no tipping in those industries, prices would be much higher, and likely worse service, since not working for money.
Yes, tipping for fast food is absurd, and rounding up, frick no. Why should I give a corporation money to hold, collect interest, then get a tax break, from my money

Perhaps these food and drink establishments could pay there employees more out of their new found wealth from the foreign foot traffic.

Papa Johns- pick up deal- a large one topping for $8.99.
Have it delivered you can add over $5 delivery fee plus tip PLUS not get that pick-up deal. Total $27. Same pizza.
