Covington no contest IMO

Anytime you can avoid BR and the bridge you take it.

23 miles to Port Allen
65 miles to Covington

Both have traffic issues - Port Allen hands down.

The bridge sucks, but Covington is still much further of a drive, even with BR traffic. He will probably spend at least an extra hour on the road each day.

Well as someone who makes that commute let me chime in.

Mornings. Leave pville 6:30 stop at chick fil a, get to port Allen around 7:30. If there’s a wreck on an issue then yes it takes longer. There’s generally something once every two weeks. In 3-4 years only one major issue where they closed the I-10 bridge one day. That sucked. Everyone took the old bridge. Got to port Allen around 8:30 I think.

Afternoons. Traffic on I-10 get worse as the week goes on. I get in the far right lane and go all the way to the Washington street exit then get over.
Monday’s are pretty quick. Tuesday’s are a bit slower. Etc.

frick fridays on the interstate.

Get you some audio books or a podcast and relax.

ETA. I honestly think the longest ever taken me in the afternoons is an hour and half because of a wreck on something. That’s pretty unusual. But because of distance it will take you a straight up hour.

Avoid airline too. Get off at highland and go old Perkins to Walmart.

Either one makes me want to open a vein but I'd go Prairieville to Port Allen. Or I'd just move to Mandeville or Covington
